What is Dental Bonding?
Dental bonding is a cosmetic option that enhances and perfects the front of your teeth. Bonding uses composite resin material to cover and fill in areas of missing dentition. It’s ideal for cracks, chips and small fractures on front teeth as well as gaps and spaces between teeth. The majority of dental bonding can last for about a decade before needing to be replaced.
Why is Dental Bonding needed?
Dental bonding is matched perfectly to your existing dentition. Each patient will benefit differently when it concerns bonding. Some of the more common things that bonding helps with include:
• Spaces and gaps between teeth
• Chipped, cracked or fractured teeth
• Discoloration and stains
• Uneven teeth
What makes you a good candidate for Dental Bonding?
The process to place bonding material is easy and relatively noninvasive. For most patients, little to absolutely no local anesthetic is required. The procedure is long-term and durable, with most bonding lasting for a decade or longer. You will find that bonding enhances and perfects your existing smile and covers minor imperfections. The majority of our patients who want bonding done or think they would benefit from the procedure are able to have the work performed in our office when it is most convenient for them.
What can be expected with Dental Bonding?
You will come in and have the tooth prepped to receive the bonding material. Composite resin is carefully placed and smoothed out so that it blends with the existing tooth’s structure. The material is fully cured with a bright light so that it is set permanently in place. Any rough areas are again smoothed and you’ll be ready to head home from our office once the area has been perfected. The procedure is quick, easy and requires little or no anesthetic. You can benefit from a full, healthy-looking smile for years with your new dental bonding.
